In brief: I offer practical web design and development for businesses that need a clear, usable and SEO-friendly website. I am building this service as an additional part of my work, so I do not present an invented portfolio, agency history or years of web-development experience.
A practical starting point for a business website.
Web Design & Development
A business website should make it easy for visitors to understand what you offer, find important information and take the next step.
My approach is straightforward: understand the requirement, plan the pages and functionality, build carefully, review the result and be clear about what is and is not included. I also bring an SEO perspective to the website structure where that is relevant.

What I can help with
Depending on the requirement, a website project may include:
- Business website design: a clear page structure based on what the business needs to communicate.
- WordPress website development: WordPress-based implementation where WordPress is appropriate for the project.
- Website redesign: improving an existing website rather than automatically starting from zero.
- Responsive presentation: making important content and actions usable across desktop, tablet and mobile screens.
- Service and landing pages: focused pages that explain an offer clearly and provide an appropriate next step.
- SEO-friendly foundations: sensible headings, page structure, internal linking and crawlable content where applicable.
- Content structure: organising information so visitors can understand the business without unnecessary complexity.
- Performance-conscious implementation: avoiding unnecessary elements and considering important performance factors.
- Selected website improvements: targeted changes when a complete redesign is not necessary.
A straightforward approach
This is a developing service area. I am not presenting a made-up portfolio, claiming a long web-development history or using inflated experience claims to sell the service.
Instead, I want the website to make the working approach clear: the requirement is reviewed first, the scope is defined, the work is carried out within that scope, and limitations or third-party requirements are identified openly.
If a project needs specialist programming, a complex integration, advanced design work or another capability outside the agreed scope, that should be identified before the work is accepted rather than promised without a realistic basis.
Where web design and SEO meet
A new or redesigned website can be planned with search visibility in mind from the beginning. This does not mean that website development alone guarantees rankings or traffic.
Depending on the project, relevant considerations may include page purpose, search intent, headings, internal linking, indexability, canonical URLs, image handling, structured data and other technical or content foundations.
Broader SEO research, implementation or ongoing SEO support remains separately scoped when required.
How a project can work
- Understand: Discuss the business, audience, existing website and actual requirement.
- Plan: Decide the required pages, content, functionality and responsibilities.
- Design: Establish a clear visual and information structure.
- Develop: Build the agreed website or website changes.
- Review: Check important pages, links, forms, presentation and agreed functionality.
- Improve: Record any remaining changes or recommendations before considering the agreed work complete.
Already have a website?
A complete rebuild is not always necessary. An existing website may contain useful content, established URLs or search visibility that should be preserved.
Where appropriate, the first step can be a review of what should be retained, improved, replaced or left unchanged.
Scope before quotation
Website requirements vary. A small business website, a service website, a landing-page project and a more functional WordPress website can require very different amounts of work.
Before quoting, I want to understand the required pages, content, functionality, existing setup, integrations, responsibilities and expected timeline. Hosting, domain work, licences, third-party services, copywriting, photography or specialist development are identified separately when relevant.
There is no claim that every type of website or development requirement can be handled. If something falls outside the agreed scope or capability, it should be stated clearly.
What a website can — and cannot — promise
A useful website can improve clarity, usability and the technical foundation for search visibility. It cannot by itself guarantee rankings, traffic, leads, sales or a particular position in search results.
Likewise, good design does not remove the need for useful content, appropriate SEO, ongoing maintenance or other work that a particular business may require.
Frequently asked questions
Is web design and development a new service?
It is an additional service area being developed alongside my existing SEO work. I do not claim a long web-development history or present an invented portfolio.
Do you work with WordPress?
Yes. WordPress can be used where it is appropriate for the website requirement and agreed scope.
Can an existing website be redesigned?
Yes. An existing website can first be reviewed to determine whether targeted improvements, a redesign or a rebuild is appropriate.
Will SEO be included?
SEO-friendly foundations can be considered during website development. Broader SEO work is separately scoped when required.
Do you offer every type of web development?
No. Website requirements are reviewed individually. Specialist programming, complex integrations or other requirements outside the agreed capability should be identified and scoped separately.
Have a website requirement?
Tell me what you want to build, redesign or improve. We can first clarify the requirement and determine whether the project is a suitable fit.
